I wanted to make a cute little pillow for a Valentine’s Day gift. I just had a partial skein of yarn in my stash with no idea how much was remaining. I just wanted to find a square I could crochet from the inside out so I could use up all the yarn was left and then make a custom pillow insert to go inside. I came across the Raised Squared Waffle by Buttonnose Crochet on Ravelry and decided to use that for the square. I followed the pattern until I was out of yarn.
Then I got an old t-shirt and cut it where if I folded it in half it would be about 2-3 inches bigger than the crocheted work folded up. I cut a bit of amazon box about 1.5” bigger than the crocheted work, so that the worked could stretch over the finished pillow.
I then put that on the fabric and ironed it to put down marks to where the hem tape should go.
I then used some HeatnBond for Hems to seal it while inside out except a small space for filling, and filled with Fairfield Poly Fil.
I used another strip to seal it once full and then I folded the crocheted work over it and sewed it together
